Still fish to be caught at Horsehoe lake in Woodland
Recently stocked, Horseshoe Lake in Woodland is still a hot spot for some pan trout and even a few browns that are gorgeous. There are six osprey that have moved into the area and they have been taking many fish. There are at least two fully mature Osprey and four juveniles. There was also a bald eagle that had no problem catching a rainbow on its first dive. There are also a few Killdeer that have been foraging on the shore along with the usual suspects such as Robins, Starlings, and Swallows. I also spotted an American Goldfinch by the private docks in the center of the lake. Even if you have a hard time bringing home dinner you can still see an amazing bird show while you enjoy the carnival during Planter Days from June 16th to the 19th. Come down and enjoy the good weather this weekend before the sun starts blazing this summer.
